Worked Calculation Scenario
These are demonstration assumptions, not channel data or expected earnings. Results use the same formulas as the calculator above.
Sample Inputs
BENCHMARK- Current watch hours
- 1,820 hours
- Watch-hours goal
- 4,000 hours
- Additional watch hours per month
- 340 hours
- Average view duration
- 4.5 minutes
Calculated Output
OUTPUT- Hours remaining
- 2,180
- Progress to goal
- 45.5%
- Months at this pace
- 6.4 months
- Additional views needed
- 29,067
Formula: Remaining = max(0, goal − current). Months = remaining ÷ monthly hours. Views = ceiling(remaining × 60 ÷ average minutes).
The timeline assumes a constant pace and no hours expiring. It does not simulate YouTube’s rolling eligibility window or determine YPP eligibility. Shorts Feed watch time does not count toward the 4,000-hour path. Check the Earn tab in YouTube Studio.
